LAHORE: Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) will start a massive drive against private housing societies in the provincial capital which is not paying over Rs.88 million aquifer charges to the agency for the past many months.
Managing Director Wasa, Syed Zahid Aziz, said that a special task force had been constituted to recover the pending amount from the private housing societies as well as for cutting their water supply lines. He said this drive will be carried out without any discrimination across the city.

Wasa MD said that all private societies in and around the provincial capital were bound to pay aquifer charges to the agency. He said the agency was already planting trees in the provincial capital under the PM’s vision of clean and green Pakistan. He said the action would be started against the private societies after April 15.
